A rich and flowing massage with sustained pressure and deep attention to areas of bound energy gently encourages your body’s own innate healing capacity to bloom.

Marie brings more than 20 years of  personal and professional embodied wisdom to her massage sessions. Her unique combination of grounded somatic connection and heart centered resonance results in sessions that feel both muscular and mystical, giving the sense of being held in a nurturing field of wellbeing.

Marie draws on elements from a diverse wealth of teachings including her foundational training in Swedish Massage, Myofascial Release, and Shiatsu. These show up in your session as luxurious integrative full contact strokes, deep kneading with sustained pressure into areas of tension, and being methodically rocked and compressed. You may also notice Marie’s unique style of gentle spinal unwinding that she has honed over her years of practice.

You will find the dimension of your session enriched with premium quality Ayurvedic herb- infused oils to nourish your tissues and subtle but powerful energetic alignment techniques to enliven and empower your whole system. Marie has incorporated these elements through long steady learning in Ayurvedic Wellness, Pranic Healing, Resonant Attention and Subtle Energy Mechanics.

Most recently Marie is undertaking a series of intensive trainings in Biodynamic Massage which she brings whole heartedly into each and every session, being attentive to and trusting your body’s inherent healing capacity to guide the emergent moment. This approach allows for a deeply connected bodywork experience.

A lifetime of meditative experience and Marie’s keen subtle listening capacity promotes the opportunity to drop in together to soothe and align your system on multiple levels. Marie holds the intention in every session to witness you just as you are, holding you in a palpable field of acceptance. It is in this way that human flowers open together.

In addition to her offerings at Conscious Nectar, Marie provides on-site massage to the medically fragile home-bound patient and those nearing the end of life. These treatments focus on calming the central nervous system, decreasing feelings of anxiety and pain and bringing a sense of ease and harmony to both the home bound client and their caregivers. Typically treatments will consist of hand, foot and head massage, with gentle holds along the clothed body. They are typically performed with the client remaining in their own bed or chair. Marie also works with Providence Hospice of the Gorge providing these sessions for their patients.

Marie came to the healing arts through her own journey to find relief from chronic pain and migraines. In her early twenties she discovered the power of nutritional healing, cleansing the system of toxins and adopting an organic whole food diet, studying Ayurvedic and traditional food preparation methods and philosophies and discovered the power of vital living foods, prepared with love. It was at this time that she enrolled in massage school.

Her journey led her to the yogic world and the development of devoted daily asana, pranayama and abhyanga practices, devotional chanting and eventually deep immersion into Tibetan Buddhist practice.

More recently Marie has been practicing a simple daily Vedic meditation that initiates a state of great ease. She holds the recognition that each moment is a choice and an opportunity to remember our wholeness.

A move to The Columbia Gorge in 2012 brought a new love -5Rhythms Dance- into her life which has proven to be a practice of remarkable spiritual depth, supporting transformation of physical, emotional, mental, relational and communal aspects of her life. Dance- including Tamalpa Life Art and Butoh as well- has become one of Marie’s most powerful allies on her healing journey.

She and her husband live in Hood River and have two remarkably resilient and adventurous adult children. Marie also loves to cook, kayak, commune with plants, weave flower crowns, take part on community circles and create beautiful spaces and altars when she has the chance.

Reviews for Marie:

“Muscular and mystical!” -Beth Glennon

“Marie’s massage was so centering and healing. Her knowledge of the body is detailed and her intuition is clear- addressing areas where I held tension while also encompassing a very flowing, relaxing style. I felt held in a cocoon of healing presence, energy and touch- feeling both myofascial release as well as a deep connection to my body and spirit.” -Yana Little
